In addition to being a wife and mom, God has given me a passion for serving Him! I work alongside an amazing group of women who are passionate about seeing women engage in healthy, supportive and empowering relationships.
Connections for Women was established in 2008 as a non-profit organization which aims to encourage, equip and empower women living in the Slate Belt communities of northeastern Pennsylvania. We offer opportunities for women to gather in a positive, casual atmosphere in order to become familiar with area resources, develop friendships, and strengthen support systems.
We recognize that sometimes life is hard and our circumstances can be overwhelming when faced entirely alone. Its during these times that supportive friendships among women become even more important. Our Faithful Friends program provides the opportunity to share the joys and challenges of life through one on one intentional, casual friendships. "Friends" are matched according to similar interests as well as overall purpose for participating in this specific program. In order to maintain our independence as well as freedom to share our beliefs, we do not accept any government funding. We rely on the generosity of individuals and churches for financial and volunteer support. Although our budget is limited now, our goal is to someday occupy independent office space for gatherings and events.
The Connections Boutique is a women's resale shop located in downtown Bangor, PA. We accept donations of gently used, better quality women's clothing and offer it for resale at great prices. Our aim is to bless women in our community by helping them to look their best! Proceeds from boutique sales fund the activities of Connections for Women. You can help by donating gently used clothing and accessories, volunteering several hours at the boutique, and/or shopping! Carol, the boutique manager can share more about ways to get involved.
Knowing Jesus brings hope and purpose to life. Our desire is to share this hope with others who may be close to the church physically yet far from the church relationally. As women of faith, our challenge is to step deep into the lives of women in our communities and share the hope that only faith in Jesus brings. God promises a full life, even in the emptiest of places -- through faith in His Son, the Savior, Jesus Christ.
